Many communities suffer effects of global climatic changes which results into decline in household incomes, increased food insecurity and medical costs. Consequently, it results into increased poverty levels, general decline in quality of life, crime and hopelessness among the communities.

Building community resilience in dealing with adversities of climate change and economic shocks requires strengthening of social capital in host communities. This involves participation of Youth, Women and other special populations that play a critical role in advancing community agenda.

EGADO will implement sustainable community development strategies towards enhancing social capital and quality of life.

Mental health is a basic right in the Kenya constitution. However, many communities are unable to access quality mental healthcare services due to lack of awareness, inaccessibility and high cost of the services. Consequently, EGADO strives to enhance access to timely, quality and affordable mental health services.
